Due to the fact that things are so slow around here I thought I would ramble a little about some Pre-Pro I am working on for a short.
While I feel that the story is weak and not very interesting the director seems to be very organized which is always a bonus. He is also trying to make sure I have everything I need to do my job--Another bonus.
Well, today while we are out doing some scouting I whip out my trusty viewfinder. People started giving me strange looks. I have never wanted to spend the money on a viewfinder so I make them...
What I do is I make them out of my old business cards. I simply cut out a square/rectangle of the right aspect ratio. In this case I cut a square 1 inch tall by 1.66 inches wide. Bam...Now I can hold it and frame things. Is it exact: No. But it does give you a decent idea of what the space will look like.
Good Luck

Allright. Can't you just make a square of your thumb from your one hand and your pointing finger from your other hand?

Sure, but then you never get even frame lines...
Good Luck
